After an extensive year-long process, we have been accepted by Riedel Crystal as an authorized retailer and we would like to extend to you a very special offer…. We will be placing our initial order the third week of October which will arrive a few weeks after that, just in time for the Holiday Season. We are taking pre-orders and offering 10% off to anyone who participates in this order.

John has written several wine books, is an award-winning vintner, has judged Canadian and International wine competitions, and writes for several national media outlets. Join us for a taste of BC as well! This will be John’s only stop in Kelowna. WINE CLUB LAUNCHED!“WE ARE BRINGING OUR TASTING COUNTER TO YOU….”For the past 6 months we have been compiling results from our Wine Club Questionnaire. We wanted to ask YOU how our wine club should work! The core of our business belief is to listen to our customers so we wanted to ask for your opinions and ideas. Thank you to everyone who took the time to be part of this initiative. It proved to be very interesting; it was amazing to us how similar most of the responses were. HOT TIPS:

•1998 Sumac Ridge Merlot 1.5L Magnum bottle $39.90 just released in limited quantities….yes 1998. Red wines were very sought-after from this exceptional growing year. The larger the “unit” the slower wine ages, so although the 750ml bottle was released years ago and long since sold out, Sumac Ridge has just released the 1.5L. Excellent wine at an excellent price.

•Pinot Reach Winery in Kelowna will re-surface in the new year, under their new ownership, with a new name and 2004 wines. Discover Wines still has a few of their last remaining bottles!

•Looking for something different? Our customers are enjoying wines from an up-and-coming winery in Trail, BC called Columbia Gardens. Recently on our Tasting Counter we featured their 2003 Late Harvest Pinot Noir $29.90 and it flew off the shelf. http://www.cgwinery.com/

Discover Wines is collecting suggestions and will submit them all for consideration …and we have some prizes for our favourite picks.

•The Fall Okanagan Wine Festival is October 1-10. Check out their website for events. www.thewinefestivals.com After the festival they also post the award-winners. It is a very exciting and hectic time in the wine industry while grapes are being picked and crushed, and many new wines from 2002 and 2003 will released. We will have most of the award-winners in stock (it is fun for us as we try to guess winners and plan to have lots on-hand). If you have a favourite, take our advice, and do not snooze as they always go quickly.
